Bush is the only US President to wear a military uniform while in office, including Washington, Grant, and Eisenhower. Here he has changed out of his uni for his famous "Mission Accomplished" speech on the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. Just to set the stage for what follows below...
Here's another video from an aircraft carrier. The Navy tried to pull this off Youtube but it was brought back by popular demand. The people who made the video were reprimanded by the Navy. But I've long thought that getting rid of the phony grandiosity of uniforms, airplane names, and missiles named after gods would be a helpful step. The name of the ship where this video was filmed is the Ronald Reagan, which you'd think might be enough, but maybe it should be changed to the Jonathan Winters, the Moe Howard, or the Haystacks Calhoun. Still, these Navy personnel are doing what they can by singing and "lewdly shaking their behinds," as a Communist tract against dancing once put it. I feel a lot safer after watching this. Just think of it! Not only are commisioned officers involved, but even the commander of the ship! I really love this video...
