My week of guest blogging comes to a close. I had a lot of fun interviewing poets and sharing poet dreams. During this week I dreamed of four poets already included in my Dream Poet Anthology and added one more to the list: John Ashbery.
In this dream Ashbery was lying in bed discussing how difficulty/complexity were superior to the plainspoken. I argued there's a place for both, but he must have convinced me otherwise because I conceded with a diss to a too-long Broadway show. Then my son started wrestling with Ashbery. Ashbery tried to teach him how to play "Uncle" but my son was a bit too aggressive because Hulk Hogan had already taught him how to play. I commented that Hulk Hogan wasn't so smart and Ashbery agreed.
Today at 5 p.m. EST I will be interviewed on the Joe Milford Poetry Show. If you aren't able to listen to the live airing, that's OK, it'll be archived and you can listen at your leisure. You really should listen. I have an adorable Pittsburgh accent.
And if you feel like you just can't live without me, don't fret, I keep a personal poetry blog here.
