It's been such a pleasure to post on this blog all week - thanks to all of you who have visited and commented! If you need to find me in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me at hamlin@seanet.com or find me on facebook.
Thank you again to Nikolai Lesnikov for his wonderful photographs. You can find more of Nikolai's work on his very cool web site nikoleyeland.com.
I end the week with another section from the long poem "night geographies" which comes from an unpublished book of poems I'm almost finished writing. Enjoy!

from night geographies

in
the oldest part of the city I lost my eyes
and
the murmuring winter weeds
submerged
and waiting
while
the green sticky flame of new spring
dripped
its clear nectar and unfolded
against
the cloudy roiling sky
its
bright serrated edge
in
an unapologetic mad blaze
and
blew the red leaved cherry’s delicate linger
off
into pink swarms of harmless fragrance
smashed
against windows black mud
I
want that skin transparent
a
petal that sways and unfastens
footsteps
past fences and breaks in the hedges
to
the doors guarding the dark mouths
it
was the docks
the
empty rich world
covered
with chains and signs forbidding entrance
to
the dark which floats in shadows
rocking and clinking
