We're pleased to announce that on the evening of Friday, April 1, in Albany, NY, the Empire State Center for the Book will induct John Ashbery into the New York State Writers Hall of Fame. David Lehman will present the award. The induction ceremony will be the focus of the Empire State Book Festival Gala that will kickoff the state’s second annual Empire State Book Festival, a two-day celebratation of New York State writers, literature, and literacy.
We'll be featured during the morning of April 2 when Daniel Nester, Mark Bibbins, Kathleen Ossip, Cara Benson, and I will join David Lehman to read poems and talk about the Best American Poetry series. In the afternoon, David Lehman will appear on a panel devoted to the American songbook. If you're in the vicinity of Albany, NY during the weekend of April 1-2, stop by the festival. It's free!
