А вы припадете к подножиям жирным
В крови, в холодеющем сале могильном.
И там, в перепончатом мраке забвенья
Все медленно вдаль поплывет к разрешенью
Всех ваших задач относительных чисел
К закрытому складу непонятых писем.
Но выживет память кровавого сгустка,
Там книга закрыта, там гулко и пусто.
Но и без нас будет боль абсолютна
Когда ваши дети, больные под утро
Все будут шептать в подсознательном страхе,
И дети и вы - до последнего часа:
Йоав и Элад, и девчушка Хадаса...

After we’re gone, disappeared, there will be
your hollow world of the wordless hum.
We’ll turn into smoke, into the star undying
over the abandoned city of the eldest son
where the ravine floats away filled
with broken lives. No one is out on the street
to feast in May. But you will fall down before
the bloodstained pedestal, covered by
cold lard of the graves. And there in the webbed
darkness of oblivion everything will flow to the final
solution of your issues of relative numbers,
to the locked warehouse of our letters unread.
But the memory of this blood clot survives,
the book closed, it’s empty and resonant.
And even without us the pain will be absolute.
Your own children sick at the dawn
whispering with a subconscious fear,
both you and the children, from the first hour to the last:
Yoav and Elad, baby girl Hadas...
