I meant to ask, and would love to know, what other incidences of small things accruing deep meaning have happened in the lives of readers of the blog. Please share!

I just want to share the inexplicable and sniggering joy of putting a marshmallow peep into the microwave. Much as the universe is expected to do one day, it expands to an enormous size, then collapses into an impenetrably hard blob of matter, like a pink or yellow black hole. I'm not sure which is the metaphor, though - the nuked peep itself or the slightly maniacal fun it is to do once you're sick of eating them.
