Poet, fiction writer, scholar, and BAP blog contributor Mitch Sisskind will make a rare east coast visit to read at KGB Bar on Monday night. Mitch Sisskind is a licenced gemologist from Chicago. He is the author of two books of short fiction, Visitations and Dog Man Stories. He edits The Stud Duck, a literary magazine. Mitch has been called "one of the funniest writer in America" (Michael Silverblatt, Bookworm, WKCR). Mitch Sisskind is also a maverick scholar. In Divine Deception: The Inner Gender of Gender (Earl University Press) he unravels the secret hoaxes that have masked the sexuality of many authors of Western Literature-from the Bible to the internet. Mitch has been called "one of the funniest writer in America" (Michael Silverblatt, Bookworm, WKCR). Listen to his fascinating Bookworm (WKCR) interview here. Mitch discusses Closing the Circle: An Oulipean Tale of Air Travel here. And he talks about pit bulls and the people who love them here. His poem "Like a Monkey" is included in The Best American Poetry 2009.
