The Singles Scene
As a girl, she had an odd assortment
Of dolls, all missing their partners and mates:
Cher with no Sonny, two Charlie’s Angels.
Her strange daydreams all centered on absent
Friends, a Ken doll, spiffed up, who never dates,
And a bionic woman who settles
For nights alone; Luke who misses Leia,
Donny who pines for his lost Marie,
While Ace Frehley, with no band, goes solo.
Glinda the Good Witch has been stood up. A
Worthless complement, she’s sorry to see
The single wrestler, who never felt so low,
Not worth much without an adversary,
Sad as a graveyard on a summer day.
