Just curious. Was Brad Leithauser's grandfather a physician in Detroit?

Yes. My grandfather was a physician on the East Side of Detroit. I never met him, but he wrote a book called Early Ambulation. I incorporated this into my new novel about Detroit, The Art Student's War.
