Freud visited the United States in 1929
(1) To investigate the spate of suicides following the stock market crash in October
(2) To meet with his American editor, Maxwell Perkins.
(3) To give the celebrated Kramden lectures at Princeton.
(4) Freud never visited the United States
(5) Do you mean Lucien Freud?
I believe Freud only visited the US once in the early 1900's, and was not too impressed and thought America was a "mistake!"

He visited only once and that was to give a lecture at Clark University. I don't remember the date, but I thought it was earlier than 1929.

Are the Kramden lectures at Princeton related to the Norton lectures at Harvard?
