Megin Jimenez reports that an Astaire-Rogers double-bill festival is in progress at the Film Forum on Houston Street in NYC. We missed Swing Time, the best of them all, on Tuesday the 17th, but there are four more Tuesdays to come. Next week there's the Gershwni-orchestrated Shall We Dance? [1937], which includes "They Can't Tale That Away from Me" and "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off." The other movie that day is "Carefree" [1938], music and lyrics by Irving Berlin. This one has "Change Partners."
If all goes well, I'll be there at 1:30 or 3:40. Come if you can. -- DL
