Everyone knows what Mark Twain said about a San Francisco summer, but Oscar Wilde's observation is equally valid:
"It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world." - The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Imagine Oscar on the Castro. He would have indeed thought he'd died and gone to heaven.

Love the comment LO. First time I read "on the Castro" I imagined Oscar on a convertible sofa, reclining. Next I saw him opining "on" the Castro regime in Cuba. Finally I saw the light of Castro Street.
