In connection with his award winning A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters American Songs, David Lehman will make a presentation at the Eldersburg Branch of the Baltimore Public Library. A traveling exhibit based on the book will visit 55 public libraries in 27 states from now through April 2012. The exhibit, which David wrote and designed, centers on lives and works of Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Harold Arlen, and a host of other Jewish songwriters who wove the American songbook deep into the fabric of American culture. A book-signing will follow David's presentation and the library will serve refreshments. Will there be an impromptu sing-along? I hope so!
