This week we welcome Jerry Williams as our guest blogger. Jerry is an associate professor at Marymount Manhattan College. His first collection of poems, Casino of the Sun, published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2003, was a finalist for the Kate Tufts Discovery Award. His second collection of poems, Admission, was published by Carnegie Mellon in 2010. Also in 2010, The Overlook Press published an anthology of breakup and divorce poetry he edited, called It's Not You, It's Me. His poetry and nonfiction have appeared in American Poetry Review, Tin House, Crazyhorse, Pleiades, Witness, and elsewhere.

Sally Ashton continues to post about her travels in Portugal where for the past two weeks she has been teaching at a new International Literary Program. This week she begins exploring more of Portugal with her winemaker husband. She will post a few times a week about her adventures. In addition to her many accomplishments, Sally was recently named poet laureate of Santa Clara County. Read about her appointment here.
