The Best American Poetry 2011 is reviewed in this week's issue of Publishers Weekly, and that's good news not only because the review is noteworthy and quote-worthy but because there's no surer sign that finished books are mere weeks away. The review (unsigned) characterizes the series as "poetry's most popular annual anthology" and puns happily on the editor's name: "Kevin Young, this year's editor, is in fact among the series' youngest, though he is himself as well known as any of the other editors have been." Singled out for special acclaim are the poems by Robert Pinsky, Carolyn Forche, Jaswinder Bolina. Farrah Field, James Richardson, Olena Kalytiak Davis, Robert Hass, and Paul Muldoon. "As ever, there is something for every poetry lover, as well as for readers who might not yet know they love poetry." But here, read it yourself.
