Damon McLaughlin lives in Tucson, Arizona where he helps adults earn a GED by day and fronts the rock band Red Star Rebellion by night. His poems appear widely in print and in online journals as well as in several anthologies including Red, White, and Blues: Poets on the Promise of America and the Best New Poets series. His chapbook Olduvai Theory won the 2011 Toad Hall Press Chapbook Prize; other honors include The Davis Demitasse Poetry Prize, the Briar Cliff Review Poetry Prize, a Pushcart nomination, and other such finalist-type honors. He maintains a blog here. His full length collection is Exchanging Lives (The Backwaters Press, 2008).
