Kate Angus, co-editor of Augury Press, writes to share this exciting news:
We here at Augury Books are very happy to announce that we’ve extended the deadline for our Editors’ Prize until August 15th. Augury Books is an independent press based in New York City committed to publishing innovative work from emerging and established writers. We seek to reaffirm the diversity of the reading public and our editorial board is dedicated to fairness and quality of work; as such our book contest is open to anyone except personal friends, colleagues or former students of the editors. Writers with personal connections to the editors of this nature must submit an email inquiry for general publication instead.
We are looking for previously unpublished poetry manuscripts that we will fall in love with. It’s hard to say what precisely that curious alchemy will entail, as we have fallen in love with many different types of poems before (poems with no cats in them; poems comprised entirely of cats; poems constructed of equal parts fragments and white space; poems with a clear continuous thread of characters and narrative), but we find the common constant is quality. In essence, we like good work.
The winner will receive a $750 honorarium and publication with Augury Books, as well as 20 complimentary copies of the manuscript.

Thanks Kate!
