On "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (part one) [by DL]

Who, when they hear the "Colonel Bogey March" that the soldiers whistle as they enter the Japanese POW camp in "The Bridge on the River Kwai," thinks of

Hitler has only got one ball
Goering has two but they are small
Himmler has something similar
And Goebbels has no balls at all

David Lean's 1957 movie haunts this viewer -- and our culture altogether. Note that when Don Draper (Jon Hamm) in "Mad Men" changes identities with a dead comrade in Korea, he is doing just what Commander Shears (William Holden) has done in "The Bridge on the Rivert Kwai." -- DL
