We're delighted that Erin Belieu has agreed to continue the popular series of posts from a coupleof weeks ago. Erin is the author of four poetry collections published by Copper Canyon Press, including Infanta, One Above & One Below, Black Box, and the forthcoming Slant Six, due in early November. She has been selected for the National Poetry Series, Bread Loaf and Sewanee conference fellowships, the Rona Jaffe Foundation award, the Ohioana Book Award, and the Midlands Author Award, and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Her work has appeared in places such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Ploughshares, Slate, Tin House, Willow Springs, The Rumpus, and The Best American Poetry (2000, 2011, 2014). Belieu is a professor in the writing program at Florida State University and the low-residency MFA program at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachussetts. She is also the co-founder and director of the organization VIDA: Women in Literary Arts and is artistic director for the Port Townsend Writers’ Conference. Belieu lives in Tallahassee, Florida.
