Cleis is the transgender issues correspondent for The Advocate. A Pushcart prize-winning poet with prose and poems in publications like the Fence, Prick of the Spindle, Ploughshares, Baltimore Alternative and the Philadelphia City Paper, Cleis is a longtime Buddhist dedicated to harm-reduction and compassionate living.
