Highbrows have long condescended to this Academy Award-winning movie. They are wrong. Gregory Peck is great; do you remember the foul-mouthed comedian in "Mad Men" who tells Don Draper "I loved you in Gentleman's Agreement"? Best line in the movie, delivered by Celeste Holm to Peck regarding Dorothy McGuire: "She doesn't rate you, Phil." And Peck to his mother: "You're quite a gal, Mom."
In this photo you see Holm, Peck, and John Garfield.
