So I said like why so he said like maybe my place?
So he said I'm on the job around the cock
So I said that's hard
So he said what
So I said around the clock
So he said yes
that's what i meant
like it was like he looked straight
at you when he spoke
of guns versus flowers
or Walt Disney versus Picasso
as the century's greatest artist
everyone was chill
so I said typo
so he said type-A
so then we unambiguously
did the thing that has no name,
the secret everyone knows
so no one ever spills it.
Lovely to be the serene queen of the scene!

Ed note: From the archive; first posted August 13, 2008. Molly asks me to mention the symposium she is organizing on the question raised in the poem: namely, whether Walt Disney or Pablo Picasso may be said to have been the greatest artist of the 20th century. DL
