Ah, the 'nature' sonnet!

Why does 911 not respond to the call? Could it be the police have been defunded and there is no one to answer?
The poem doesn't make this clear. I'm not sure of the point about those lines though I appreciate the poem,
its form and subtleties about nature, death and how we cope with those thoughts.
