A is for Oboe [by Lera Auerbach]

The virtual book launch of Lera Auerbach's A is for Oboe - The Orchestra's Alphabet, a book of poems for children about music, will take place Sundasy, January 9, 2022. Felicitations! Lera writes :

 

<< I had excellent collaborators: Marilyn Nelson, my dear friend and one of the most brilliant people I know, the fantastic illustrator Paul Hoppe, and a great team at Penguin-Random House and Serendipity Literary Agency. For the audio version of this book, we have the one and only Thomas Quasthoff as the narrator and numerous musical excerpts to illustrate the poetry. I want to thank RSO Vienna, Raschèr Saxophone Quartet, Leonidas Kavakos, Marin Alsop, and Luke Haaksma for lending their artistry to this project. If Lera Auerbach, famed poet/composer/pianist/conductor, has written a book for children on music, it will be nothing short of phenomenal and original. And what collaborators: poet Marilyn Nelson, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, conductor Marin Alsop, and the legendary bass-baritone Thomas Quasthoff as narrator! Congratulations, Lera.
