« Bukowski on His Birthday (August 16) | Main | Ben Jonson Proposes a Toast to Stacey Lehman on Her Birthday »

August 17, 2022

Who knew his name? Larry was my first artist friend in New York, and our friendship never wavered - through IT ALL as you mention. Smart, his telling a collector, "No, that painting comes only in that size and color," and Dorothy Miller [he asked me to go with him] "No, I can't salvage "Washington Crossing --" drowned in MoMA water damage, "but I can paint a new one." He was loveable as few are. Our last encounter, he praised facial skin abrasion for renewal and sported a "Fly me" button clasping his fly. Thx for the shared memory,
ever S Again
ps Where is Jane and Joe's daughter? Let me know.
