The Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run
After Eliot Ness finished his work in Chicago for the Treasury Department, he went on to become police commissioner of Cleveland. He succeeded, excpet that he couldn't catch the "Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run," also known as the Torso Murderer, because he left maybe a dozen or so torsos after disposing of their limbs. Ness did troot out the corruption in the Cleveland police department and he combatted the Purple Gang, the Cleveland counterparts of Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky. Both Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, the creators of Superman comics, were inspired by Eliot Ness, as was Chester Gould, who created Dick Tracy.
