To be a guest on the Grace Cavilieri show
is better than having a banana split
on 59th Street, even better than hot chocolate
after skating on thin ice while Kierkegaard cheers,
better, even, than going to Denmark
in melancholy solidarity,
even better than the first time you memorized
whole paragraphs from Either / Or and Fear and Trembling
in those days when it was easier to memorize sonnets and soliloquys
and recite them before an adoring audience
even better than that
To be a guest on the Grace Cavalieri show is to be encouraged, delighted, and humbled. She is such a gift.

Grace is a wonder. She is the Great Appreciator in the poetry world. And your session with her was especially entertaining.

OHMYGOSH. David Lehman, a god among men, said my name. I, who read his every word, not the least of all SINATRA! And got to hear him sing midcentury songs...I am the lucky one.
Well, I am in love with David Lehman=and STACY HARWOOD LEHMAN= you just have to deal with making this old lady happy. xxoo

I so hope you start a podcast! David and Grace are the perfect combination. The singing, the poetry, the magic . . . Thank you both!
