Link above is to guest poets Terence Winch and Kit Robinson who join Harry E. Northup for readings and discussion of their verse on Harry’s Poetry Hour. The program is produced, hosted, and recorded weekly by Northup as a part of MPTF Studios' Creative Chaos. Terence Winch goes first in this audiovisual recording.

NOTE: One of many highlights in this recording is “Childhood Ground,” a song composed by Terence Winch and performed by singer and pianist Eileen Estes and fiddler Michael Winch, Terence’s son. Go to 17:48 on the horizontal timer of the video.
Among Terence Winch's many books of verse are It Is as If Desire, That Ship Has Sailed, This Way Out, The Known Universe, Lit from Below, Boy Drinkers, The Drift of Things, The Great Indoors, Falling Out of Bed in a Room with No Floor, and Irish Musicians/American Friends. In my considered opinion, Terence Winch is the best writer of villanelles today and overall one of our finest poets.
“Paradise Bronx,” an article about the Bronx by Ian Frazier in the July 15, 2024, issue of The New Yorker, was mentioned by Terence Winch in Harry’s Poetry Hour.
"Childhood Ground" is really moving! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting this, David.
Thanks, Nin, for your comment. I wholeheartedly concur with your remark about the visceral impact of Terence Winch's song "Childhood Ground." The historical footage of the Bronx deepens the overall effect of his poignant lyric and music, impeccably performed by singer-pianist Eileen Estes and fiddler Michael Winch. Or as they might say in the Bronx: what's not to like?

Earle & David: Thanks for posting this. I don't want to overlook my fellow poet Kit Robinson, co-conspirator in this episode of Harry Northup's excellent show "Harry's Poetry Hour." Harry has featured many great poets in this series. More on Kit can be found at https://kitrobinson.net/about.

Dear Earle, David,
Thanks for the linking the show and for your kind words.
It was an honor indeed, and a blessing to have the superlative poets, Terence Winch and Kit Robinson on Harry's Poetry Hour, that I produce and host, thanks to Jennifer Clymer, Director, MPTF Studios, who encouraged me to do the poetry program in March of 2020 when Covid hit. Thanks to Jennifer Clymer and the Channel 22 crew who record digiitally all the shows and do outstanding production work. The poetry of Terence and his songs and the poetry of Kit Robinson are wonderful and memorable. I love to keep learning. Thank you all.
With gratitude,
Harry E. Northup
