Let's say someone
phones you and says
how would you like
to fly to Japan and
play chess with a grand-
master near the cenotaph in
Hiroshima on September
30 and you say yes and
then it turns out that
the 30th is Yom Kippur
it does complicate your
feelings doesn't it and
you had planned to pray
with some insects down at
a secluded creek that day

Not yet, but some day, you'll have to atone for your levity.

Is levity transgressive, Henry?

I love the combo of levity and brevity. You always pack so much into your succinct witty poems that are secretly deep. And your voice is so distinctive and disorienting and casual and iconoclastic. Love everything. Sarah
