Modugno's "Volare" is the only "Volare" so far as I'm concerned. I grew up with this playing constantly on my family's restaurant jukebox and with my father singing along to the record—as well as performing the song on stage at night with the house band. Some of that atmosphere is recreated in my novel CARNEVALE. Thanks for sending me to the YouTube link!
